Tickets for Oklahoma’s Red/White Spring Game are now on sale and are priced at just $5 each through April 10 before going up to $10 after that. The 2012 Red/White Spring Game is set for April 14. Kickoff time has yet to be determined. Oklahoma is coming off its nation-leading 33rd 10-win season.

Oklahoma Football Adds Six to Roster

The Oklahoma football roster expanded Friday with the additions of early enrollee Taylor McNamara and 2011 signee Trey Metoyer. The two join previously announced junior college transfers Kass Everett, Brannon Green and Chaz Nelson along with 2011 signee Jordan Wade on campus for the spring semester.

Oklahoma Head Coach Bob Stoops has named Tim Kish the new linebackers coach at the University of Oklahoma. Today’s hiring of the former Arizona defensive coordinator is pending approval of the university’s board of regents.Kish spent the last eight years at the University of Arizona where he became familiar with the defensive system of Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops, serving as his linebackers coach since 2004 and adding the role of defensive coordinator the final two seasons in Tucson.

Fleming 101st Sooner Invited to Senior Bowl

The North squad defense for the 2012 Senior Bowl just got a whole lot better. University of Oklahoma defensive back Jamell Fleming officially accepted an invitation to participate in the annual game.Fleming marks the 101st Sooner to be invited to showcase his talents for NFL scouts, GMs and coaches. The Senior Bowl began in 1950.

Stoops Announces Changes to Football Staff

Oklahoma Head Football Coach Bob Stoops announced changes to his staff today. Defensive backs coach Willie Martinez has resigned to pursue another position and Mike Stoops will fill the vacancy on the staff and also serve as co-defensive coordinator with Brent Venables.”Willie has some attractive options and is going to pursue them,” Bob Stoops said. “I appreciate all of Willie’s work here. He represented our program in the right way and will continue to do well in our profession.”Martinez, while looking ahead, said he was grateful for his time at OU.

Hunnicutt Named Freshman All-American

Oklahoma kicker Michael Hunnicutt was named to the Football Writers Association of America’s Freshman All-America team the organization announced on Monday. The Richardson, Texas, native received the honor after tying an Oklahoma record with 21 field goals in 2011 despite not taking over as the Sooners’ starting kicker until the third game of the season.

Landry Jones to Return for Senior Season

Landry Jones, the all-time leading passer in Oklahoma history, announced today that he will remain at OU and compete for the Sooners in his senior year.”I want to accomplish the goals that I set before I got here, and there is still a lot more to do,” Jones said. “I want to make sure I’ve exhausted every effort in that area. And I want to be a senior. I enjoy being at OU and with my teammates and look forward to graduating with the guys that were in my class when I got here.”

It wasn’t always pretty, but the Sooners grinded out a win, closing out a difficult year that included the death of a teammate and failed national title aspirations. Blake Bell ran for his third touchdown in the closing seconds and Oklahoma survived a late rally, not to mention the crashing camera, to beat Iowa 31-14 in the Insight Bowl on Friday night.
